This warranty covers the owner against defects in the material or in the workmanship of the unit. Tesoro extends this warranty to the original purchaser only.
Exclusions:
Faulty batteries.
Damage due to battery leakage.
Cable damage due to flexing.
Any wear and tear to the housing of the searchcoil.
Damage due to water seal leakage on their underwater detectors.
Any instruments that have in any way been abused, modified or been repaired by an unauthorized body.
Shipping Guidance:
In the event that you need to send your detector in for repair to the factory, Tesoro advises that,
You send the coil plus its cable and the control housing for the electronics. This is the minimum requirement. It isn’t necessary to send in poles for example. Where the controls housing unit must remain attached to the upper pole and armrest, these should be included to. This is the case with some of the very early detector models, along with the Tesoro Tejon, the Tesoro Cortes and the Tesoro DeLeon.
Detail the nature of the problem in writing and send this with the unit. Describe the problem, and under what circumstances it occurs e.g. when using specific settings, or in certain conditions.
Also include your address. A physical address rather than a PO Box is requested too, and a daytime phone number in case the service department needs to discuss the issue with you.
Equally, if there are any charges associated with the repair because they aren’t covered by the warranty, you will be contacted to agree them in advance.
Return shipping is by UPS – contiguous states only. For Hawaii, Alaska and Canada, shipment is by the US Post Service. Outside the US, you will be required to pay for shipping.
